Microsoft Teams now with CarPlay support

Microsoft has announced a number of changes to the system that allows you to make and receive calls with Microsoft Teams, including support for Apple’s CarPlay technology and the transfer of calls between devices.

The integration with CarPlay allows Microsoft Teams users to control teams and use commands to ask Siri by voice to answer phone calls even from vehicles. According to Microsoft reports, CarPlay support is one of the innovations that allow Microsoft Teams to become a better replacement for traditional corporate phones. Among the features offered- protection from spam calls, reverse number lookup (phone number search), and the ability to merge the incoming call with the current one.

The various functions are part of a revised call interfacing system, with quick access to features such as call history, voicemail, and contact management. Microsoft has also included new features for recording in Teams, making it easier to record meetings and share them on cloud-based storage platforms such as OneDrive.

Microsoft Teams is also expected to transfer calls between different devices in early 2021; for example, users will be able to initiate a call on Mac and transfer it to iPhone, completing it by automatically closing the connection with the device previously in use. The complete list of news can be found at this address.

Teams, we recall, is a “collaboration hub” that allows you to chat, organize meetings, share files and collaborate in a single virtual space; it is possible to extend the potential of the application beyond work scenarios, also transforming it into a tool to better manage and organize private life and stay in touch with friends and family. It is possible to chat and organize calls and video calls, with vast possibilities of sharing- from the funniest contents, such as animated GIFs, to the possibility of sending photos, videos, and your own geolocation. Microsoft’s solution provides a dashboard from which it is possible to share lists, documents, and calendars both with one’s own groups and within individual conversations.
