Oppo F5 was recently announced by Oppo Electronics with the smartphone’s release date slated for 26th of October, 2017. This Chinese OEM announced this smartphone along with another version of the Oppo F5 – the Oppo F5 Youth. DESIGN AND DISPLAY
Oppo F5 has a fine outlook with its sides entirely bezel-less. The top bezel and bottom bezel are however present but in a slim format as the top bezel camps the secondary camera. The dedicated keys on the smartphone are the volume buttons and the power button. The top left portion is where the rear camera gets its location. The fingerpint sensor also gets its location at the rear. Gold and Rose Gold are the colour options with which the smartphone will get released in. The smartphone has a full metal body material.
Sizing itself as a phablet, it bags up a 6.0 Full HD+ display. Its resolution is set at 2160 x 1080 pixels with its pixel density also excelling at 402 ppi. Oppo F5 produces sharp and clear texts and icons on its display. The IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen comes along with a 2.5D Curved Glass as well as the multi-touch input. The screen is duly protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass whose version is unspecified.
HARDWARE, SOFTWARE AND MEMORY
The chipset on the smartphone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 MSM8998. The CPU on the smartphone is an Octa core Kryo processor that clocks at 2.45GHz. This 64-bit processor uses the 10nm process technology. The graphics on the smartphone is produced by Qualcomm Adreno 540 GPU. Its software is the Android v7.0 Nougat OS. The RAM that handles multitasking has a gigantic 6GB capacity. Storage of files and documents is the duty of the 64GB ROM which can be extended to 256GB via the use of a micro SD card.
CAMERA, BATTERY AND SENSORS
The front camera region has a dual camera setup; primary snapper being 12MP with the sub-snapper being 12MP also. A LED flash is available to give brightening effects. The rear camera region has a 20MP shooter for capturing images. A LED flash support is present for the sake of brightening images. What serves as the source of power on the smartphone is a non-removable Li-Ion 4,000mAh battery. The sensors on the smartphone are the fingerpint sensor (located at the rear position), accelerometer, ambient light sensor and proximity sensor.
