Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) – the first smartphone of the South Korean giant with a quadruple rear camera – is finally receiving the long-awaited software update to Android 9 Pie.
At the moment, the implementation of version 9.0 for the Galaxy A9 (2018) seems to be limited to Poland alone. In addition to the Android version update, the update also includes Android security patches that refer to February. At the moment Samsung has not disclosed the release dates of this new update for other countries – including Italy – but it should not take much time.
The update of Android Pie for Galaxy A9 (2018) is identified in the firmware version A920FXXU1BSC5 and, as mentioned above, also brings the Android security patches of February. However, it is still unclear whether the update was released via the beta channel or is a stable implementation for Galaxy A9 users (2018) in Poland, although the second solution seems to be the “favored” one.
The implementation of the update program was identified for the first time by the always attentive SamMobile portal. As always in these cases, the update is being distributed via OTA, so it will take a few days before it reaches all the devices involved. Samsung has distributed the list of the various devices that will get the latest version of the green robot in the coming months- the list can be consulted on Samsung Members, where it is possible to view the roadmap drawn up by the Seoul giant.
Galaxy A9 (2018), launched in November last year, integrates a 6.3-inch Full-HD + Super AMOLED Infinity display (1080 × 2220 pixels) and is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 eight-core, combined with a maximum of 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of integrated storage space.
The configuration of the quadruple rear camera includes a primary 24-megapixel sensor, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens, an ultra-wide 8-megapixel sensor, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor, while the front-facing camera is a 32-megapixel unit.
