The Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus have received an update with a small but nice novelty, a notification LED next to the flash. This light comes on when using Wireless PowerShare.
Wireless PowerShare
The Samsung Galaxy S10e, the Samsung Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10 Plus are all equipped with Wireless PowerShare with which you can charge wireless in reverse. To do this, place a Qi-certified device on the S10 so that it is charged via the S10. Is the Galaxy S10 on the charger? Then it charges itself and a second device. This way you can leave your second charger at home.
Thanks to a new update, which includes the March security update (which was previously withdrawn), the S10 phones receive improvements for the camera and the Wireless PowerShare function. The improvement for the Wireless PowerShare function now appears to be a light that sits next to the flash. This light comes on when you switch on Wireless PowerShare via the fast settings. If you place a device on it to charge, the light will illuminate red. Is the device fully charged? Then the light turns green. This is a handy addition so that you can immediately view the status of the charging.
The update for the S10e, S10, and S10 Plus have the build numbers G970FXXU1ASC8, G973FXXU1ASC8 and G975FXXU1ASC8 and is available again via the SmartSwitch software and via an OTA update. The security update includes fixes for the 45 issues that Google has fixed in its March patch. As usual, Samsung has added a number of stability improvements and performance improvements, including the notification light.
The notification light on the Galaxy S10e does not discolor during the reverse wireless charging. The LED is in fact in the “Measurement sensor for heart rate” and this is not present on the Galaxy S10e.
