Samsung rolls out new update to Galaxy S10 series – features multiple camera upgrades

There is a huge role software updates play when it comes to improving how a smartphone’s camera performs. Software updates can add new features which weren’t on the phone originally. Samsung has rolled out a new update for the Samsung Galaxy S10 series, and it comes with a ton of features and upgrades that greatly affects that camera performance.

Samsung is already rolling out the update in Switzerland, and it comes with fixes to the Night Mode issues on Samsung Galaxy S10 phones’ camera app. There are other new features like the reduction of noise, and the duration the shutter stays open has been increased. The most significant upgrade in the latest update is that users are now able to take pictures in night mode using the ultra-wide angle camera. With this upgrade, users get brighter images in this mode than the regular night mode, although, the photos have more noise. There are camera samples by SamMobile you can check out.

There is another feature in the new update, and it is the ability to take Live Focus photos using the ultra-wide lens or telephoto lens on the Galaxy S10 and S10+. Initially, Samsung made the feature available only on the Galaxy S10 5G. With this new feature, you can now take bokeh photos without having to move closer to the subject.

There are some other features in the update outside camera features. It also comes with May’s security patch. It is a little behind the Pixels and the Essential PH-1. However, its security update is more updated than that of the OnePlus 7 Pro whose latest update comes with April’s security patch.

Samsung is currently rolling out the update gradually, and everyone should be able to install the update in the coming weeks.
