Design
The Aquos S3 comes with a Metal overall unibody that’s quite attractive to hold and flaunt. Just like the Mini version, the beauty in the Aquos series won’t be slowing down anytime soon. Two vertical rear shooters are at the top left corner with a dual-LED flash underneath.
Sports a rear fingerprint scanner unlike the Mini version, to really achieve a full bezel-less display. The device is very bulky just like how Sharp make their devices. Measuring 7.9mm in thickness and weighing 165g overall. You can get the smartphone in Gold and Black colors.
Display
It’s certain we’ll be seeing more of this throughout this year, iPhone X-like bezel-less top-notch display literally flooded the 2018 MWC. The top-notch was expanded compared to the one on the mini version. As we can see from the photo above, the bottom bezel came out to play a bit as well.
While the top houses the usual features, focusing on the screen, the 6-inch FHD+ IGZO capacitive touchscreen boasts of a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Everything on the screen should come out great with 402 pixel per inch density. The screen also boasts of 550 cd/m2, sRGB 135%, 1500:1 contrast ratio, Color LED Notifications and a frameless display. Impressively, the screen boasts of 84.70% screen to body ratio.
Hardware and Software
Behind the beautiful screen lies a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chip with Octa-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-cores of processor runs impressively at 2.2GHz and boasts of a 14nm process technology. Administrating graphics is the Qualcomm Adreno 508 graphics processor.
In terms of RAM and storage space, there are two versions, the standard version comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Then there’s a cheaper version with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space. Both RAM space reaches a memory speed of 1.333GHz, while the storage space is upgradeable up to 256GB. The smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system with Smile UX skin.
Camera
Explore your photography potential with the dual 12MP (f/1.8 aperture, 1.4 um pixel size, 6P lens) + 13MP (f/2.0 aperture). This device might as well make our next list of the best smartphone cameras in the world. For selfies, the 16MP shooter on the top-notch has f/2.0 aperture and face recognition technology.
Battery
Powering the Sharp Aquos S3 is a 3200mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more than 1.6 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
