It’s barely up to two months since the smartphone company, Tecno Mobole unveiled the Tecno Spark K7 and Tecno Spark Plus K9. Although the Spark Plus K9 is not yet available in the market, the Spark K7 have received thousands of positive reviews and commendation.
However, Tecno decided to surprise it fans and lovers who couldn’t afford some of her high-end and premium devices by releasing an affordable budget and low-end smartphone called the Tecno S1. Read on to the specs, some pictures and what we think about the Device.
DESIGN AND DISPLAY
Somehow, the front view of the Tecno S1 already gives the device out as a budget and low-end device. The device is made of a basic black coloured dashboard surrounding the small screen and three capacitive soft-keys below the display.
At the back, the roughly textured back cover is the first thing you’d noticed when you hold the Tecno S1. The primary camera, the loudspeaker grill at the bottom and the all-caps TECNO logo are other components that make up the rear/back of the device.
The Tecno S1 comes with a 4.0 inch capacitive touchscreen with a below par display resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The display quality is pretty low, so do not expect much from the screen. Although it supports multi-touch of an unknown number of fingers. PROCESSOR, OS AND STORAGE
The Tecno S1 runs on a Quad-core processor which runs at a clock speed of 1.3 GHz. The device comes out of the box with the Android v6.0 Marshmallow operating system incorporated with Tecno’s native HiOS version 2.0. This is quite a plus considering the kind of device this is.
The storage compartment is made of 1 GB of RAM for multitasking purposes and 8 GB of built-in memory to keep all media files and documents. CAMERA AND BATTERY
The Tecno S1 comes with a single 2 megapixels meagre camera on the rear with a LED flash right below it. However, the Tecno S1 does not come with a secondary camera on the front. This might make taking selfies and making video calls and chat a tad bit difficult.
The Tecno S1 is powered by a 1,500 mAh Lithium Ion battery. The battery is removable and this means you can purchase batteries to keep as spares should in case you run out of battery juice.
