Vivo announced the X50! A mobile phone with a ‘Gimbal’ camera!

Vivo has finally revealed its first tops of the 2020 range, the X50 range! And apparently, the big bet is on the camera system, namely on the main camera, which will have an outstanding stabilization never before seen in the smartphone market. After all, Vivo itself compares this new system to professional ‘Gimbal’ stabilizers.

Interestingly, the technology that we can find in this new X50 has already given an air of its grace in Vivo Apex 2020 Concept Phone. However, it will only reach the market now thanks to the impact that COVID-19 had on the production and launch of new generation equipment.

Well, the more ‘Premium’ model X50 Pro + uses a 50MP ISOCELL GN1 sensor from Samsung for the main camera, taking advantage of the aforementioned stabilization system to create a kind of radar to control the movements of the camera, and later indicate to the user when everything is ready for capture. Interestingly, the X50 Pro + and X50 Pro models also have periscope telephoto lenses, unlike the X50 model which loses functionality to bet on minimalism.

Unfortunately, Vivo has not yet revealed the complete list of specifications… Still, we know that the X50 Pro + has a Snapdragon 865 processor, OLED HDR10 + screen with 120Hz support. In addition, the ‘normal’ X50 model will be the thinnest and lightest 5G smartphone on the market. It comes equipped with the Snapdragon 765 instead of the more equipped Snapdragon 865.

We still have no idea when it will hit the market or how much it will cost. However, one thing is certain, if this stabilization system is successful, it is very likely that it will start to appear on all the renowned devices on the market. At the end of the day, Vivo has become a tradition to introduce functionality and the rest of the manufacturers to ‘imitate’. This has already happened with the fingerprint sensors under the screen and pop-up cameras.
