Here’s the Vivo Y73, a smartphone which has just been announced and released by Vivo in the month of October, 2018. There’s not a lot to notice in this device but it does have its own peculiarities. You see a bit of strength at the battery department and at the storage departments.

Most importantly, the Vivo Y73 comes in two variants which is acknowledged at the storage department as. In this review, we will examine such areas as price, design, display, camera features, hardware, software, battery and other characteristics of the Vivo Y73.

Design and Display of Vivo Y73

Vivo Y73 is predominantly made of plastic. In dimensions, it is 75.74 x 155.87 x 7.8 mm. Furthermore, it weighs 150 grams and it is not water resistant. It comes in black, red, and champagne colors.

The display type in Vivo Y73 is HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touch screen. The device comes in 5.99 inches, with resolution 720 x 1440 pixels. The screen comes in 16 million colors. However, pixel density is 269 pixels per inch, and the screen to body ratio is 78.69 percent. The aspect ratio is 18:9. Protection for the screen is 2.5D curved glass screen, scratch resistant.

Camera Features

In Vivo Y73, camera features are moderate. The device comes with 13 MP camera of which one cannot compare the images to any of the high-end mobile phones. Video quality is 1080p@30fps f/2.2 aperture with LED flash.

Other features include auto focus, continuous shooting, digital zoom, exposure compensation, face detection, geo-tagging, HDR, scene mode, self timer, and more.

The front camera is a meager 5 MP which comes with flash capacity. The aperture in here is f/2.2. This is combined with other restrained features.

Hardware and Software of Vivo Y73

Primarily, the operating system in Vivo Y73 is Android 8.1 Oreo which is able to upgrade to the latest Android 9 Pie. The operating system found on Y73 has Funtouch 4.5 user interface.

On the hardware side, there is Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 with process technology 12nm. Similarly, the CPU is Octa-core 1.95 GHz 8-cores. In addition,  the GPU for graphics is Adreno 505 2-cores, while the device comes in 64-bit architecture.

Storage Capacity

There are two variants of the Vivo Y73 and their prices differ. This is the only area where the difference in the variants is pronounced. There is 3GB/4G of RAM, which are supported by internal storages of 32GB/64GB respectively.

Both are able to get boosts with microSD cards up to 256GB external storage.

Network and Connectivity

Internet networks vary in the Vivo Y73. There are 2G, 3G, and 4G networks found on the device and these are able to make use of any of the dual Nano SIM card slots. This means that Y73 is able to handle GSM, WCDMA, and LTE.

Other components to these are Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, USB Type-C, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, 3.5 audio jack, HDMI, and others. However, there is no infrared or NFC in this device.

Y73 Battery Life

Battery type in Vivo Y73 is Li-Po 3360 mAh non-removable. Amazingly, this device has fast charging capacity, which you may not find in other smartphones of its level. The battery power found here is able to provide well over 24 hours of backup for the device.

Price and Availability

Right now, it is hard to tell about the real pricing of the Vivo Y73. However, price starts around $200 and it is more available towards end of October/November 2018. Pick the device up if you can, for it’s got a fingerprint sensor.
