Vivo Y83 is the first smartphone with Helio P22 – goodbye fingerprint reader, welcome facial unlocking

Just three days after the official presentation of MediaTek Helio P22, the first smartphone equipped with the SoC in question is coming to market. We are talking about Vivo Y83, a model that probably will never exceed the Asian borders (if not through third-party stores), but which has some peculiarities to keep in mind.

Vivo’s smartphone in fact, in addition to being equipped with SoC Helio P22, sacrifices the fingerprint reader focusing instead on unlocking through recognition of the face, also seen that the Helio P22 was designed to facilitate this method of unlocking. However, it is not the first, and it will not be the last one.

Putting aside the unlocking methods, Vivo Y83 is equipped with a huge 6.22 “display with HD + resolution (729 x 1.520) 19 – 9 with a conspicuous notch that accommodates sensors, front camera, and earpiece. In addition to the Helium P22, we find 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal memory expandable up to 256 GB, dual non-hybrid SIM (3 slots then, two SIMs + microSD), front 8-megapixel camera and rear 13 with f / 2.2, 3.260 mAh battery. The price is around $ 230.
