Why Sony doesn’t use advanced cameras on their phones

In terms of imaging technologies, Sony’s important role in the industry cannot be underestimated. Sony is one of the leading companies in the field of camera and camera. For years, however, it has not used a camera that will bring sound to its flagships. The reason for this was the firm’s global marketing chief.

Commercial reasons

As it is known, Sony always prefers sensors that compete in the flagship, but do not come forward. The company, which tries to make a difference with more software, however, supplies its sensors to its competitors. For example, the 48MP resolution sensor was first used in rival companies.

Sony Marsh, the global marketing chief, ties the competition within the company that its flagship does not use sound-sensitive sensors from the camera division. The competition between the mobile device and the camera section causes sales to drop.

Marsh says that transferring the technologies of the cameras sold with high price tags to the mobile side can create a problem on the sales side and that each department should remain with its own technologies. Within the company, a phone and a camera owner is a concept adopted more emphasizes.

On the other hand, more advanced solutions will be offered on the software side. Some important software technologies used in the Alpha group will be transferred to Sony Xperia cameras. It’s not clear what’s going to happen.

On the other hand, the introduction of Alpha division head Kimio Maki to Sony Mobile in the emergence of the new flagship Xperia 1 model has a huge impact. Maki has revamped the existing Xperia XZ4 project, bringing a new approach to smartphone design. The company has established cooperation between different brands and mobile department, the design is expressed on this.
