Wiko Sunny 3 Plus is the latest smartphone from the company known as Wiko. The device has not received much publicity after all, since it was announced and released in the month of October, 2018. The French company is releasing this smartphone for the same reason smartphones known with ‘Plus’ in their names have always been released. It is an upgrade of Wiko Sunny 3.
In this review, we take a cursory look at the design, display, camera features, hardware, software, and other features of Wiko Sunny 3 Plus.
Design and Display Wiko Sunny 3 Plus
Primarily, the device is made of plastic but the material is so polished it looks so sophisticated. The dimensions are 72 x 148 x 9.3 mm. Sunny 3 Plus weighs 175 grams and it comes in gold, red, black, and gray colors. Display type is FWVGA+ IPS LCD capacitive touch screen, with the screen size being 5.45 inches.
It comes with 480 x 960 pixels resolution of 16 million colors. The pixel density is 197 ppi, screen to body ratio 72.17 percent, and aspect ratio is 18:9. Furthermore, features include multi-touch up to 10 fingers, scratch resistance, and 2.5D curved glass screen. However, Sunny 3 Plus is not water resistant, nor does it come with secondary display.
Camera Features
There’s a single 5 MP camera to the rear which comes with FHD recording and f/2.4 aperture. Video performance is 1080p@30fps. More so, it comes with such features as auto focus, continuous shooting, digital zoom, exposure compensation, face detection, geo-tagging, HDR, panorama, scene mode, self-timer, and others.
The secondary camera which is also the selfie camera is 2 MP. However, this comes without flash but the device comes with f/2.8 aperture.
Hardware and Software
Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition reigns supreme as the operating system with stock interface. Additionally, there is MediaTek MT6580 with process technology 28nm. This comes together with Quad-core 1.3 GHz 4-Cores, and ARM Mali-400 MP2 GPU 2-Cores. Furthermore, this device makes use of 64-bit architecture.
Storage Information
There’s nothing much to be proud of here as there’s only a stringent 1GB of RAM which cannot be expanded, and 8GB of internal storage. However, the user can boost external storage up to 64G with a microSD card.
Network and Connectivity
In a world where everyone is thinking of 5G, Wiko Sunny 3 Plus puts us to shame with only 2G and 3G internet networks. There’s nothing like 4G LTE in this smartphone. It’s nothing but a slow world for the users. One benefit is that at the present time, there are some areas where 4G LTE is still not working, so people there have to make do with just 2G and 3G internet.
Other connectivity components are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, HDMI, 3.5mm audio jack, facial identification. However, there’s no NFC or infrared port in the Wiko Sunny 3 Plus.
Battery Life
Powering the Wiko Sunny 3 Plus is 2200 mAh Li-Po removable battery. This isn’t good enough, but the user doesn’t need to bother because he or she may have the opportunity to fling it away after something like six months and buy another battery. There are no fast charging options or wireless charging technology in the Wiko Sunny 3 Plus.
Price and Performance
The Sunny 3 Plus sells for a trifling sum of $60 USD or thereabouts. It has been announced and released in the month of October, 2018.
