Xiaomi Mi 8’s (Explorer Edition) Latest Update brings along 960fps and Super Night Scene

Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer edition is already receiving the MIUI 10 update which is based on Android 9.0 Pie. The update which Carries the name V10.1.2.0.PEHCNFI and has a 2.1GB file size brings some major changes to the device. Some of the changes includes the 960fps video mode, up to from the usual 240fps and also a new feature called the Super Night scene which has been on Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2s device for a while now.

The Super Night scene makes it possible to take a clearer photo at night/super low light, similar to Google’s night sight and Huawei’s Night Mode. It is does this by taking 8 different photos at different exposures and combine those 8 photos into one clearer, brighter and high-quality final photo. Asides the new camera feature and improvements, the update also brings along bugs fixes and general improvements and stability to the operating system which is just a vague term for some improvement they feel people don’t care about.

If you haven’t already gotten the update notification yet on your Xiaomi Mi 8 (Explorer Edition) then you should be getting it pretty soon. You can also check manually for the update by going to Settings >> About >> System Update and Check for an update.
