In recent weeks there had been more and more insistent rumors that they wanted Xiaomi ready to release the update to Android 8.1 Oreo for the Mi A1. The owners of the device had already raised the antennas, convinced that the update would arrive at moments. In fact, the indiscretion turned out to be correct.
The Chinese company has in fact released the new update that also includes the security patches of July. At the end of June, the latest software update had begun to spread on the Android One-based smartphone; however, as many will remember, several users have immediately reported a very heavy bug, which was going to hit the memory of text messages sent and received.
The problem was solved in a short time by Xiaomi. The file size of the new update is about 467 MB and will be sent to users gradually through OTA – this means that if any user has not yet received the update will only have to wait a few days. The owners of Mi A1 who have already received the update report that at the time things work without problems and that no bugs are found.
Based on the changelog of the latest software update on the Xiaomi Mi A1 drives published on the MIUI forum, the update brings with it the latest Google security patch. Not only that – the update improves the stability of the phone and optimizes performance. The update build number is OPM1.171019.026.V9.6.4.0.ODHMIFE. The XDA developer forum reports that users who have already updated the previous version (with the SMS bug) will receive a larger update of around 1.15 GB.
Solved this problem concerning the Mi A1, Xiaomi can finally focus on the launch of the Mi A2, which will take place on July 24th in Madrid, Spain.
Xiaomi Mi A2 could show off a 5.7-inch full-HD + (1080 × 2160 pixels) display with an 18 – 9 aspect ratio. The phone should have no “notch”. The Mi A2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, combined with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB / 64 GB / 128 GB of internal storage options.
On the back, it is almost certain the presence of a vertically arranged double camera, with a primary 12-megapixel sensor and a secondary 20-megapixel sensor. On the front, however, the smartphone could come with a 20-megapixel camera. Finally, Xiaomi Mi A2 will have a 3010 mAh battery.
