The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 was officially introduced two days ago and we reported it here on TechVaz. The device is known for its tall 6.9-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, making it more than just a Phablet.
Although the screen isn’t up to 7-inch, so it isn’t tall enough to be called a tablet. It houses a massive 5500mAh battery, which is more than enough to last for 2 days on normal usage. While the trendy iPhone X-like dual shooters is present here as well.
Design
The Mi Max 3 weighs a ton and a massive Phablet in terms of size, it’s surprising slim by the sides measuring just 8mm in thickness. It has an aluminium alloy overall unibody just like most mid-range Phablet from the company.
You also get the rear fingerprint scanner which lets you gain access to the device in just 0.1s. At the top left corner, the iPhone X-like dual shooters makes the device looks premium, alongside the dual antenna lines. It weighs 221g overall and available in Black, Champagne Gold and Blue colors.
Display
When you turn over to the front, you get to behold the tall 6.9-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. This is perfect for those who are into big screens but don’t want to get the Mi Pad 4 for some reason.
The screen boasts of 1080 x 2160 pixels in resolution and 359 pixel per inch density. The screen stretches all the way to 79.8% screen-to-body ratio and dishes out an 18:9 aspect ratio with a Corning Gorilla Glass on top.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood, it’s powered by the Snapdragon 636 chip with its 14nm process technology. There’s an octa-core processor as well clocking at 1.8GHz. While the Adreno 509 graphics processor handles graphics.
You get to choose from two storage variants in terms of storage and RAM space. There’s a version with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage space, while the cheaper variant has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. If you can let go of the SIM 2 slot, you can expand up to 256GB. The Max 3 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9.5.
Camera
In the photography department, the Mi Max 3 brings lots of AI features to the table. It has a main 12MP shooter with f/1.9 aperture, 1.4μm pixel size and dual pixel PDAF. While the 5MP telephoto cam underneath is the depth depth sensor.
There’s a LED flash in-between and other Internal features like touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama. It shoots 4K videos@30fps, 720p/1080p@30fps (gyro-EIS) and 720p@120fps. While the 8MP selfie camera has f/2.0 aperture, 1.12µm pixel size and Face ID.
Battery
Powering the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is a 5500mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2.5 hours.
