Design
Definitely one of the best looking ZTE smartphones out there and i’ve seen alot. The dual antenna lines always adds a unique flair to any device, and it did wonders on the Small Fresh 5. The dual rear shooters sits side by side the dual-LED flash.
The symmetrical format going on at the top is totally the highlight at the rear. There’s a rear fingerprint scanner as well to unlock your device even faster. It measures just 7.9mm in thickness and weighs 132g overall, making it very easy to operate with a single hand. It’s available in sophisticated colors like Glacier Blue and Green, Dark Night Gray and Elegant Gold.
Display
A midrange device that displays like a budget smartphone, the screen is pretty disappointing to say the least. Even though the screen stretches all the way to the sides, the top and bottom bezel are enormous and pretty disturbing to look at.
Nonetheless, three navigation buttons are present at the bottom bezel, while the top is busy with the usual features. The 5-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen displays standard visuals. Boasting of 1280 x 720 pixels in resolution and 293.72 pixel per inch density. Disappointingly, the screen could only get to 67.18% screen to body ratio.

Hardware and Software
The Snapdragon 425 MSM8917 chip from Qualcomm is totally in charge here with quad-core processor and 32-bit CPU architecture. The 4-cores of processor reaches a speed of 1.4GHz with 28nm process technology. In the graphics department, the Qualcomm Adreno 308 dominates and clocks at 500MHz.
There are two versions in terms of RAM and internal storage space, there’s one with 4GB RAM and 32GB Storage. While the much affordable variant packs 3GB RAM and 16GB storage. Both RAM space reaches a memory speed of 667MHz, the storage space is upgradeable up to 128GB. ZTE Small Fresh 5 Runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with MiFavor 4.2 UI skin on top.
Camera
The 13MP + 2MP shooter has f/1.8 and f/2.6 aperture respectively, coming with lots of quality features like Face Beauty, Voice Capture, Gesture Shot, Smile detection, Face Detection, Self-timer, Touch focus, Low Light Mode and others. Capture photographs with 4128 x 3096 pixels in dimension, and HD videos of 1080 pixels at 30fps. At the top bezel, the 5MP selfie camera has 160 degree wide angle lens.

Battery
Powering the ZTE Small Fresh 5 is a 2500mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with no fast charging technology. Even without the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take up to 2.3 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
