“This is the crazy pop-up camera of the OPPO Reno”

The OPPO Reno would get a pop-up selfie camera that appears diagonally out of the housing when you need it. This was revealed in a video and leaked renders from a case maker.

OPPO Reno

Last week more and more rumors about the OPPO Reno series appeared. This is a new product series at OPPO that will probably be more focused on young people and will also appear in the Netherlands. First, it became known that two Reno devices are coming, one with a Snapdragon 855 and a lighter version with a Snapdragon 710. The first would use OPPO’s 10x Hybrid Zoom – previously known as 10x lossless zoom. This was followed by a video in which a device with borderless design can be seen.

In the latter article, we asked aloud how OPPO wants to present that borderless design, possibly through a sliding system as we saw earlier with the OPPO Find X or even through a pop-up camera. The leaked video below shows that the Chinese manufacturer opted for option 2. Only they did not choose a small selfie camera that appears like the Vivo V15 Pro, but rather a camera that comes out of a module that comes out of the housing and covers almost the entire top of the phone.

Crazy pop-up camera

In the above hands-on video, we see that the selfie camera module comes out of the housing as soon as the woman in question activates the selfie camera from the camera app. It is not yet clear what advantage such an implementation offers over the earlier pop-up cameras we saw or the pop-up camera that is expected for the OnePlus 7, but we look forward to learning more about it as soon as OPPO’s Reno appears.

Furthermore, we see two cameras on the back in the video and nothing that looks like a camera with a sturdy telephoto lens. So it is probably the cheaper OPPO Reno phone that can be seen in the video. Finally, renders of surfacing cases for the OPPO Reno telephone have also surfaced, and the remarkable pop-up camera can also be seen.

What do you think of these images from the pop-up camera of the Reno? Will these phones already receive the prize for the most spectacular pop-up camera in a smartphone? Let us know in the comments at the bottom of this article.
