Google has started to test its new monthly subscription service called “Play Pass” on the Play Store. Android Police has reported that this service will cost around $4.99 per month and in return, it will offer free access to hundreds of games and other apps present on the Play Store.
According to the official sign-up pages provided by Android Police proves that Play Pass service will neither show ads nor include any in-app purchases. You will be charged $4.99 monthly to avail this service and you can also grab the 7-days trial version before opting for the full version. As said earlier, this service is now in test mode, So the subscription price may change before the arrival of the final version.
As per the info page of this service, the app catalog will include “spanning puzzle games to premium music apps and everything in between. From action hist to puzzle games and trackers….”
By going through the info page, we will come across a few game titles provided in this service which include Monument Valley, Marvel Pinball, Stardew Valley, etc. It is to be noted that this is not the final lists of supported games and apps as the Play Pass subscription-based service is currently being tested.
Apple is also going to come up with a similar monthly subscription-based service known as Apple Arcade. And this service will cost around $12.99 per month and will cover only games and not apps. However, Google has still not announced the release date of the final version of the Play Pass service.
