Apple iPhone 11 vs 11 Pro vs 11 Pro Max – these are the differences

At the 2019 Apple Event, we saw three new iPhones born with totally different names than last year. As before, there is a cheaper iPhone, the main flagship and a larger Max variant. But what exactly distinguishes the individual models? Let’s take a closer look.

Design and screen

The differences between the three smartphone variants lie, as before, not only in display size but also in technology. While the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max are equipped with an OLED screen, Apple continues to rely on the LCD for the iPhone 11, the cheapest model, which measures 6.1 inches. Like last year with the iPhone XS, the iPhone 11 Pro is also slightly smaller, only for the economical version, which features a 5.8-inch display.

If you need a bigger screen, you can buy the iPhone 11 Pro Max. This features a 6.5-inch display and is, as the name suggests, the largest of all three new iPhones. There are not many design differences compared to the predecessors. Therefore, all three models have a wide range in which the technology for Face ID has improved.

Differences of the cameras

The number of cameras distinguishes the iPhone 11 from the two Pro models. The iPhone 11 has two cameras, the Pro versions have three. They fit a camera more than any other model last year.

The iPhone 11 is equipped with a 12-megapixel camera with a wide-angle lens (26 mm, f / 1.8) and a second camera with the same resolution and a wide-angle lens (13 mm, f / 2.4). Both are also available on the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max. A third 12-megapixel camera and a telephoto lens (52 mm, f / 2.0) are installed on the Pro models.

In addition to the added camera, Apple has announced a new night mode. It remains to be seen how in the end the software gets along with the Google Pixel 3 or Huawei P30 Pro. But Apple’s examples at the time of the presentation of the three new flagships were impressive.

Another feature, called Deep Fusion, is coming. With this feature, your iPhone takes nine photos and puts them all together to create a single photo, with all the imaginable details. However, Apple has not yet revealed exactly when the software update will be released to implement this new feature.

Price and services

All three iPhones rely on the Bionic A13 processor. “It should offer more performance and be superior to all Android smartphones,” says Apple. As usual, Apple does not provide any information on RAM or battery size. However, it is obvious that iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are superior to the cheaper model of the iPhone 11.

All iPhones also have Wi-Fi 6, faster Face ID and IP68 certification.

Of course, the prices are different. The iPhone 11, available in six colors, costs 799 euros with 64 GB of internal memory space and 849 euros with 128 GB of internal memory, if you need 256 GB, you have to dig deeper into your wallet- 969 euros.

The iPhone 11 Pro starts at 1,189 euros (64 GB) and goes from 1,359 euros (256 GB) to 1,589 euros (512 GB). The iPhone 11 Pro Max already costs 1,289 euros for the version with 64 GB of internal memory, 1,459 euros for 256 GB and 1,689 euros for 512 GB.

You can also pre-order all three iPhone 11 models from September 13th. The new phones will be available in stores starting September 20, 2019.
