Ark is back with another affordable smartphone, the Ark Benefit S505 is budget friendly with low specs. Perfect for those on a budget and light users, the Benefit S505 won’t cost you a finger. This is coming after the company released a cheap iPhone X clone last year and tagged it Benefit S504. Lets see what the Ark Benefit S505 has in store for us today, shall we?
Design
Its a budget smartphone so i wasn’t expecting much with the design though. But the plastic body is quite cute if you ask me, only the Ark logo, LED flash and rear camera make up the features at the back. The rear camera sits at the top corner starting a vertical train, then the LED flash follows before the Ark logo.

There’s no rear fingerprint scanner anywhere at the back of the device. For a smartphone with small battery capacity is quite bulky, measuring 8.9 mm in thickness. Nevertheless, it weighs much less overall at just Gold, Black. Its available in Gold and Black only.
Display
Its not bezel-less which is disappointing, most budget smartphones these days boasts of full view display. It has three navigation buttons as usual at the bottom bezel, while the speaker grid and selfie camera is at the front. The bezels are annoying no doubt, but can we focus on the screen for a moment?
The 5-inch FWVGA IPS TFT capacitive touchscreen is not as bad as you think, boasting of 480 x 854 Pixels in resolution. The pixel per inch density is a little too low at 196, but it should entertain you nonetheless. The screen reaches 66% screen to body ratio which is so 2016.
Hardware and Software
Doing all the work underneath is the MediaTek MT6580 chip with Quad-core processor reaching a clock speed of 1.3GHz. It has a 32-Bit CPU architecture, 28nm process technology, while the graphics processor is ARM Mali-400 MP2 with 2-Cores.
Multitask through light apps with 1GB RAM space available, the RAM has a memory speed of 533 MHz. In terms of storage, it has 8GB internal storage space which is upgradeable up to 32GB. Benefit S505 runs smoothly on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with modified user interface.
Camera
The 5MP rear camera on the Benefit S505 won’t be winning any award here. It can only capture 2K resolution images which is very poor, photographs taken with the device only gets to 2592 x 1944 pixels in dimension.
Video resolution is just 720pixels @ 30 frames per second for standard videos. It comes with LED flash with other features like autofocus, touch focus, continous shooting, optical zoom and the rest. For sefies, the 2MP selfie camera is at the top bezel.
Battery
Ark Benefit S505 is powered by a 2000mAh removable Li-Ion battery, with fast battery charging feature. Even with the low battery capacity, its charging duration should be between 2-3 hours.
