Allview V3 Viper with Android 8.0 Oreo – Review, Full Specs and Price

Allview V3 Viper – Review

The Allview V3 Viper is a beautiful midrange device with a very classy body. Released in January, the device is already available on online stores for just $259.99. Sports a full screen display and packs the average specs for a midrange smartphone. Have you heard about Allview? The company has been creating affordable midrange smartphones for a while now. The V3 Viper seems to be a perfect catch, well, to know how true that is, lets dig in.

Covered by one of the most stunning design i’ve ever seen, the V3 Viper reflects light in the most subtle way. Made from plastic and metal frame, and achieving a glowing body that you can flaunt, when out and about. From afar you might think it sports dual rear camera, but it doesn’t.

The rear camera and LED flash were strategically placed at the top left corner in a horizontal position. While the fingerprint sensor is on top the Allview logo, dishing out a stunning look. It measures 8.1mm slim by the sides and weighs 143.6g overall. Allview V3 Viper supports Hybrid dual nano sim cards and its available in Gold, Black and Silver colours.

Going with the company name, you should have guessed its going to sport a full screen display. Well it did, but not quite, there are still lots of work that could be done on those annoying bezels. Much especially the bottom bezels with is completely useless to say the least.

But nonetheless, the screen offers immersive displays thanks to the features on the screen. The 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen boasts of 1440×720 pixels in resolution with 293 pixel per inch density. Including a full lamination display, 18:9 aspect ratio and In-Cell Touch. Protecting all these features on the screen is a 2.5D Curved Glass and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Hardware and Software

Doing all the work underneath is the MediaTek MT6737M chip with Quad-core processor. Disappointingly, the processor reaches a maximum clock speed of just 1.25GHz. The CPU architecture is 64-Bit while the process technology is 28nm. The graphics processor is the ARM Mali-T720 MP2 processing unit with 2-Cores, reaching a speed of 550MHz.

Multitask through all your demanding apps with 3GB RAM space and a memory speed of 640 MHz. The 32GB internal storage space on this device should be enough to store all your files and apps. But if it isn’t, you can upgrade up to 256GB by inserting a microSD card in the Sim 2 slot. Allview V3 Viper runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, letting you enjoy the Oreo experience.

The 13MP rear shooter with f/2.0 aperture is brilliant i must say, capturing 4K resolution photographs with little effort. There’s a LED flash beside it with lots of features to help capture images with 4160 x 3120 pixels in dimension. Features on the camera includes autofocus, touch focus, continuous shooting, digital image stabilization, digital zoom and others. For selfies, there’s another 13MP selfie snapper with LED flash, for video calling in dark places.

Allview V3 Viper houses a 3000mAh Non-removable Li-Po battery, with no fast battery charging feature. Which is totally bizarre, if you are going to run on Oreo, why not come with the fast charging technology?
