Allview released the Allview P7 Lite as the much affordable variant of the P7 smartphone. The company targets those on a budget with this Lite version, it’s available for sale immediately and retails for a giveaway price.
Even though there are lots of budget smartphones out there, Allview really don’t mind. They see how fast the market is moving and wants to tap into it as well. The P7 Lite is really a budget killer, would you like to know more? Stay with me.
Design
Made exclusively from Plastic and designed to perfection, the Allview P7 Lite is a beauty to hold. A portable device that fits comfortably on your hand and easy to operate as well. Simple looking as well, with beautiful dual antenna lines. The vertical train at the top corner adds to its beauty obviously.
The rear camera comes first, the LED flash follows closely before the Allview logo. No fingerprint scanner anywhere on the Lite version, just like most “Lite” smartphones. At bottom corner, the Allview inscription is pretty much visible just before the rear loudspeaker. Turning to the sides, it measures 9.45mm in thickness and weighs 134g, such a ‘Lite’ device.
Display
Just like most budget smartphones, it comes with bezels. Especially at the top and bottom corner, totally unnecessary since the navigation buttons isn’t on the bottom bezel. However, the narrow bezels are somewhat minimal and will made the display in landscape mode a little taller. The top bezel on the other hand is busy, housing the selfie camera, ambient light sensor and speaker grille.
Focusing on the 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen now. It displays like most budget smartphones, with a screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Enjoy immersive visuals and clarity, the screen has a 294 pixel per inch density. Dishes out a 16:9 aspect ratio and stretches up to 66.20% screen to body ratio which is definitely not appealing in 2023.
Hardware and Software
Running the race here, is the MediaTek MT6737 chip with a 64-bit CPU architecture and Quad-core processor. The 4-cores on the Allview P7 Lite reaches a clock speed of 1.3GHz and has a 28nm process technology for a fast performance. Conducting graphics here is the ARM Mali-T720 MP1, which comes with a single core and clocks at 600MHz.
Disappointingly, it has just 1GB of RAM space and a memory speed of 640 MHz for ‘Lite’ multitasking. In addition, there’s an 8GB storage space to store everything from files to apps. When you are out of space, simply upgrade up to 128GB using a memory card. The P7 Lite runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with modified user interface.
Camera
The rear camera is an 8MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture lens, it captures just 3K resolution images only. The camera comes with a LED flash underneath and other quality features to snap good photographs with 3264 x 2448 pixels in dimension. Take selfies with the 2MP selfie camera, and record videos of 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second.
Battery
Powering the Allview P7 Lite is a 2300mAh removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology. Even without the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more than 2.1 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
