ASUS has launched ZenUI 5.0 on a good number of smartphones in recent weeks, and in recent days had leaked the rumor that wanted ASUS Zenfone 4 Max as the next device intended to get it.
Zenfone 4 Max was launched at the end of last year with Android 7.0 Nougat, before being updated to ZenUI 4.0 not long after. At the time of the official presentation, Android Oreo had just been launched with many other devices that were coming out already equipped with the 8.0 version of the green robot. The ASUS Zenfone 4 Max is definitely a low-end device, so it did not have any kind of pretensions, but it still left the users perplexed. Who knows that with the ZenUI 5.0 update with Android 8.1 Oreo things do not improve.
ASUS Zenfone 4 Max is a smartphone powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor (combined with 3 GB of RAM) and equipped with a 720p IP LCD display. This is not a bad device at all, but it’s a more budget-oriented smartphone than most other ASUS offers. Usually, devices of this type do not take advantage of too many updates during their “life” – the fact that the update to Android Oreo has arrived after just one year is certainly a positive thing for ASUS.

The update (version number 15.2016.1809.412) is currently available for ASUS Zenfone 4 Max and should arrive on all affected devices within a few days. Alternatively, you can proceed as usual with the manual update.
