The IP68 Rating on the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max means it can stay submerged in water up to 2 meters for a whole 30 minutes. This is a huge leap forward as the previous iPhone X was only IP67 certified which could only go underwater of about 1 meter for about half the time the iPhone Xs and Xs Max could.
