Body temperature is measured with a “Huawei” phone

After officially presenting Honor 30S and officially unveiling the new Honor 30 and Honor 30 Pro +, Honor is working on its new smartphones, in particular one that can take your temperature if you bring it closer to your forehead. Over time we have seen cell phones of all kinds, such as those with infrared cameras. However, the Chinese company has taken a new turn, using the technology to infrared in different ways on its new devices.

Honor, Huawei’s secondary brand, confirmed through the Weibo social network that its next Honor Play 4 series will have an infrared camera that allows people to measure temperature. It should be remembered that the world is facing Covid-19, a deadly epidemic of which one of the symptoms is high fever. The Chinese company has ensured that this temperature measurement function works with people, objects, and animals.

The Asian producer also shared a video showing how it works. As we said, being able to measure a person’s temperature is currently particularly important because of the Covid-19, so this is a very well-received feature.

How does it work? The video shows that users only need to hold the phone on the person’s body (like the forehead), there is no need to touch it. Once done, the infrared camera will take care of the temperature. It is not currently known whether the infrared camera with its temperature measurement function will be available on all future Honor devices.

However, what is clear is that we are looking at the release of one of the most useful features right now on a smartphone given the current global situation for the Covid-19. Furthermore, if everything works correctly and without any problems, it could be really useful for those who have to move to go, for example, to work or for doctors and health professionals. Honor Play 4 will not have Google, but it will have this very practical function.
