Centric L3 is Beautiful and Affordable – Review, Full Specs and Price

Centric L3 – Review

Centric just released an update to the their midrange series, the Centric L3. The L series from Centric are known for their affordability and durability as well. Its a budget smartphone though, coming with the average specs we typically see on most midrange devices. The Centric L3 is quite stunning i must confess, with a sleek and simple body. The device is available on online stores for just $109.99, but is it worth it? Well, lets find out.

Design

I love the simple design on this affordable beauty, you won’t know it was made from plastic though. The overall plastic back was designed to perfection with a smooth finish. The rear camera and LED flash are at the top left corner, just above the antenna line.

Its very comfortable to hold and operate, measuring 8.6 mm slim and weighing 165g. Centric L3 is available in just Gray and Black colors, i think other bright and colorful colors would have done justice to the body. Nonetheless, the device is beautiful overall on the outside and supports dual micro sim on the inside.

Display

There’s a little reduction in bezels compared to its predecessor no doubt. But disappointingly, it still couldn’t reach the 70% screen to body ratio mark. It sports a physical home button, of which i’m certain will also double as a fingerprint sensor. While the navigation buttons are on the lower part of the screen, on top the bottom bezel.

The 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen has no special features, just the usual 1280×720 pixels resolution. Supports multi-touch and boasts of 294 pixel per inch density. Other features on the screen includes 16:9 aspect ratio, 500 cd/m2 and protected by a 2.5D Curved Glass. The L3 reaches an overall screen to body ratio of 69.55%.

Hardware and Software

Behind the wheel is the MediaTek MT6737 soc with 4-cores of processor, reaching a cook speed of 1.3GHz. The graphics processing unit is the ARM Mali-T720 MP2 processor with 2-Cores, running at a speed of 600 MHz. CPU architecture is 64-bit and 28nm process technology.

For a smooth multitasking ride, the 2GB RAM space with a 640 MHz speed should handle light apps. Save all your apps and games on the 16GB internal storage space, or alternatively upgrade to 128GB. Centric L3 runs perfectly on Android 7.0 Nougat with modified user interface.

Camera

In terms of photography, the rear 13MP shooter will definitely surprise you. It captures 4K resolution images with ease, the dimension of the photographs being up to 4160 x 3120 pixels. The camera also boasts of a video resolution of 1080pixels @ 30 frames per second.

Just by the side of the camera, there’s a LED flash, while the camera has autofocus, touch focus, continuous shooting, digital image stabilization ans other brilliant features. A standard 5MP selfie snapper is sitting at the front with no front LED flash.

Battery

Powering the Centric L3 up is a 3050mAh removable Li-Po battery, with no fast battery charging feature.
