Tecno Spark Pro – Review, Full Specs and Price

Tecno Spark Pro – Review

The Spark Pro was released in November, a month after the Company’s flagship, the Phantom 8 was unveiled. Tecno Spark Pro comes with the average 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and 3000mAh battery. The device is a midrange beauty that offers value for money, as well as sporting a sleek design. The Spark Pro is available on various online stores but is it worth your money? Lets take a thorough look at the device to decide that.

Design

Tecno Spark Pro

Looks like the Spark series from Tecno with no major difference in terms of design. It comes with a plastic overall back that is removable but the battery isn’t. Its supports dual nano sims as well as a microSD slot to expand the internal memory. The rear camera and LED Flash are in a vertical position at the top left.

Just like other Tecno Spark smartphones, the fingerprint scanner is still where it is. I still think Tecno has a lot of work to do with the design on the Spark. But nevertheless the phone is simple and beautiful on the outside, measuring just 7.9 mm slim. Which makes the phone very comfortable to hold and operate. Tecno Spark Pro comes in very beautiful colors like Black, Champagne, Red and Blue.

Display

The phone was launched before Tecno went all bezel-less with the new Camon smartphone Camon CM, so no surprises here. Hopefully the next Spark update from Tecno comes with a bezel-less display as well. The spark sports three navigation buttons at the bottom bezel, while the camera and front flash at the top.

Apart from the annoying bezels, the 5.5-inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen seems brilliant for a midrange. Boasting of 1280×720 pixels in resolution and 267 pixel per inch density. The resolution offers a 24 bit color depth, making visuals quite attractive to watch. Its a budget smartphone so don’t expect crystal clear displays and very sharp visuals. Tecno tried by achieving a 71.55% screen to body ratio on the Spark Pro. Additionally, there’s a 2.5D Curved Glass Screen protecting the display from dusts and scratches.

Hardware and Software

The brain behind the Spark Pro is the MediaTek MT6737 chipset with Quad-Core processor clocking at a speed of 1.25GHz. It boasts of a 64-Bit processing architecture and 28nm process technology. The ARM Mali-T720 MP2 processing unit is in charge of everything graphics, with 2-Cores clocking at 600MHz.

For multitasking through heavy apps, there’s 2GB of RAM space to handle that. There’s also a cheaper variant with 1GB of RAM on online stores for those on a tight budget. Both versions comes with 16GB internal storage space, which is expandable up to 128GB using a memory card. Tecno Spark Pro runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with HiOS 2.0 user interface.

Camera

It sports pretty good cameras i must confess, the 13MP rear camera can capture 4K resolution images. Yes, the camera can capture images with 4160 x 3120 pixels in dimension with Full HD recording and auto focus. With video resolution of 1080p@30fps, LED Flash, touch focus, continuous shooting, digital image stabilization and other quality features. While at the front, there’s an 8MP camera with its own LED Flash as well for stunning selfies.

Battery

Tecno Spark Pro is powered by a 3000mAh Non-removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging feature. Meaning it will take not less than 3 hours to charge up the device from 0%.

DONT MISS: Tecno Phantom 7 will have 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage
