Elephone A2 VS Elephone A2 Pro – the differences. Chinese phone maker Elephone has released a new entry-level smartphone called Elephone A2. The company refers to themselves as a “professional player in the industry.” Well, over the years, they have gained much popularity across Southeast Asia and Europe.
Their new Elephone A2 comes with an advanced version called the Elephone A2 Pro. Both are still very much budget smartphones. However, the Elephone A2 Pro being the advance version should feature a lot more than the Elephone A2. Well, that’s precisely why we are here to see the advanced features of the Elephone A2 Pro. So let’s compare the specs and features of the Elephone A2 and the Elephone A2 Pro.
Elephone A2 VS Elephone A2 Pro – The Design
There isn’t much difference in design between the Elephone A2 Pro and the Elephone A2. They both feature a wooden texture, which is actually made up of aluminum. At the back of both smartphones, is a single rear camera and LED flash aligned at the top left corner. Sitting at the middle is the Elephone brand logo, which I must say is amazing on both Elephone A2 smartphones.
There’s no rear fingerprint sensor; the sensor has been moved to the right side of the device. I think most smartphones are beginning to adopt this trend now. Both phones are available in Black and Gold body colors option.
Elephone A2 VS Elephone A2 Pro – The Display
The display of the Elephone A2 is pretty much the same on the Elephone A2 Pro. Both Elephone smartphones feature an 18:9 aspect ratio display. The screen technology available here is an IPS LCD, which measures 5.47 inch on both phones. Their display boasts a 720 x 1440 pixels resolution and 294 pixels per inch density. The screen of the Elephone A2 and A2 Pro is protected by 2.5D curved glass.

Being a budget smartphone means features are limited on both Elephone smartphones. The Elephone A2 Pro comes with upgraded specs found on the Elephone A2. You get an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP selfie shooter on the Elephone A2 Pro. Whereas, the Elephone A2 features a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP selfie shooter.
Elephone A2 VS Elephone A2 Pro – Hardware and Software
Powering the Elephone A2 is MediaTek MT6580 chipset, ARM Mali-400 MP2 graphics processing unit and a 4-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. While powering the Elephone A2 Pro is MediaTek MT6737 chipset, PowerVR GE8100 graphics processing unit and a 4-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz.
Both phones run on Android 8.1 Oreo with the Go edition installed on the Elephone A2. The Elephone A2 will only feature Go edition Google apps on its 1GB memory. While to store files and data, the Elephone A2 comes with 8GB internal storage. The Elephone A2 Pro, on the other hand, comes with a 2GB memory and 16GB internal storage. The storage space on the two smartphones can be expanded using a microSD up to 32GB.
Elephone A2 VS Elephone A2 Pro – The Battery
Both the Elephone A2 and A2 Pro packs a non-removable Li-Po 2300 mAh battery with no fast battery charging support. The Elephone A2 Pro being the more significant variant should have at least featured a 2500 mAh battery.
Elephone A2 VS Elephone A2 Pro – The Price
The Elephone A2 is available for around $114 (N39,900). While the Elephone A2 Pro goes for around $137 (N47,950). Am not a fan of Android Go edition, so I would gladly pick the Elephone A2 Pro over the Elephone A2.
