FERO Royale A1 Full Specifications, Review & Price

Fero Royale A1 is one of the newly released devices by the latest entrant in the Nigerian Smartphone market- FERO Mobile.

FERO Mobile is a mobile company under the MiDCOM group umbrella. MiDCOM Group, a diverse conglomerate operating across East Africa, West Africa and the Middle-East, launched of a range of mobile phones targeted at the African market.

The FERO Royale A1 is one of the devices, and we will be taking at look at what it is made of and see what FERO has to offer the Nigerian people and Africa at large. Shall we?

DESIGN

The FERO Royale A1 is a beauty. It’s a device that has a build and design that you can’t just help but look at twice – and before you know it, you are staring already.

The Royale A1 has a dimension of 145.5 x 71 x 9.4mm. The device is so sleek when held. I particularly love the thickness – at 9.4mm, the Royale A1 is slim. The device also weighs 137grams. This I’m sure most Nigerians and Africans would like as no one wants to walk around the street of anywhere with a burden in their hands or pockets.

Still, on the design, the rough-textured patterned back cover is lovely! I also love the simplicity of the rear of the Royale A1. At the top right corner, there’s a pill-shaped black space that houses the primary camera and the LED flash. The FERO logo sits comfortably in the middle, and the speaker is just some mm above the bottom of the device.

Moving to the front, the secondary camera, the earpiece and the proximity sensor sits at the top of the display. On the Royale A1 right side, the volume adjustment buttons are placed just right above the lock/power button. The arrangement is so neat I must say.

DISPLAY

On the FERO Royale A1, the 5-inch capacitive touchscreen is what you get. The screen size is okay – not too big, not small either. Just the perfect size. Images and videos on the 5-inch screen are displayed in high quality in the display is of High Definition (HD) IPS display make. And at 1280 x 720 screen resolution, nothing less than beautiful and sharp images on the screen will be produced. Yes, the screen supports multi-touch.

PROCESSOR & OS

Processes on the FERO Royale A1 are left to the hands of the MediaTek MTK6580 chipset – which is quite old. The processor is also pegged at 1.3GHz speed and has four cores (Quad core).

The FERO Royale A1 can handle light works light making calls, watching, reading, browsing the internet and texting with ease and maximum fluidity. But don’t expect it to run heavy games or applications without lags or freezing up. The 1GB RAM is no saviour from the threat of lagging/freezing that heavy games or multitasking pose either.

Royale A1 comes out of the box with Android v6.0 Marshmallow and has an 8GB internal storage space. There’s an expansion room for up to 32GB using an external microSD card.

CAMERA

The rear/primary camera is set at 8 megapixels. The device’s camera will produce beautiful photos outdoors. The LED flash will make indoor shoots well lighted and clear too.

On the front, there’s a 5 megapixels shooter embedded to satisfy your selfie needs.

BATTERY

 

My bet is, FERO Mobile is cognizant of the fact that most Africa countries suffer power outage and have decided to put a massive 5,000mAh Li-Poly battery pack on the Royale A1. The battery, as expected, is non-removable.

CONCLUSION

The FERO Royale A1 is a beautiful device with beautiful specs. A 5 inch display with good resolution, nice front and back camera and a massive 5,000mAh battery juice. FERO could use some improvement in the RAM and ROM department though as they seem to be quite lacking on this device.

FERO Mobile wants to gain the hearts of the Africa people, speaking phone-wise now. The FERO Royale A1 is one of the many shots they have taken. Let’s see how many birds it will hit.
