Back in 2013, the Gionee Mobile Industry released its Elife E7 that hit the market tremendously and many would say it is time for the Industry to replace its long overdue phablet. The next-generation model named Gionee Elife E8 was announced at the MWC earlier this year. It is now obviously ready as expected in the coming weeks by many Gionee fans all over the world, as evidenced by a listing on Chinese regulator TENAA’s website. Here are the leaked specifications and first images of the Gionee Elife E8!

The Gionee Elife E8 has a curvy ergonomic design for the most comfortable feel in your hands. Fits perfectly in the grip of your hands. It is fairly light weight and the camera is terrific, with an impressive power saving battery life that lasts you all day.
Just as expected, the new phablet comes with a number of high-end features which is considered an upgrade over its predecessor. The new phablet is packed with a massive 6-inch display compared to the 5.5 inches of the Elife E7. The device is a slim and lighter body weight phablet, its body measures a dimensions of 164.0×82.3×9.6(mm) and weighs 207g. There is also a bump in screen resolution from 1920 x 1080 pixels to Quad HD 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution compared to the Full HD (1080p) resolution of its predecessor. According to the listing, it’s an AMOLED panel, too.
TENAA also reveal that the Gionee Elife E8 will have a mysterious 2.0Ghz Snapdragon processor which allows you to run multiple apps with ease, 3GB RAM, 32GB of internal memory and can be expanded via microSD up to 128GB and gives support for GSM, TD-SCDMA, TD-LTE, LTE FDD, WCDMA network capability mode and powered with a large 3520mAh battery capacity.
Talking about the OS, the Elife E8 runs on Gionee’s Amigo UI, which is based on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) operating system.
The rear appears to be plastic with a thin alloy frame around the sides of the phone where a volume rocker and power button are located in the right side.
Another exceptional feature of the Gionee Elife E8 is its finger print reader on the rear of the phone located below the main camera and dual LED flash. We can also make out 4 holes above the camera which are likely for the microphone, and a large speaker grill at the bottom.
Camera wise, Gionee Elife E8 phablet does not seem much different from its predecessor in this department. The Elife E8 looks likely to have a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper, although GSMArena reports that the main camera is specified as 8 megapixels, perhaps, as a mistake.
Gionee Elife E8 is not yet available. In short, the phone is not yet official and the specs above and below are not final. We currently have no data on pricing and availability. When available, Gionee Elife E8 Price in Nigeria is expected to range from N65,000 – N80,000, depending on your place of purchase and location in the country.
