HiSilicon Kirin 710 Processor Launched As a Kirin Replacement 659

The Huawei Nova 3i smartphone was launched yesterday with the HiSilicon Kirin 710 chip in it. This chip replaces Kirin 659 as the middle-class processor used by Huawei. In terms of specifications, Kirin 710 comes with four Cortex A73 cores at 2.2GHz speed and four Cortex A53 cores at 1.7GHz speed.

The ability to process one core is said to increase by 75% and multi-cores is up 68% compared to Kirin 659. Graphically, the GPU Mali G5 is used which according to Huawei is 1.3X more powerful and 1X more energy-saving than the Mali-T830 MP2 GPU on Kirin 659. Kirin 710 is produced through a 12nm process. This is different from the 10nm process that produces Qualcomm Snapdragon 710. Finally, the modem used supports Cat.12 and Cat L3 LTE networks.
