Huawei Nova 3i VS Huawei Nova 3e – which version is better? Huawei has announced their new set of smartphones; the Huawei Nova 3 and Huawei Nova 3i. Both phones will be available for purchase later this month. The Huawei Nova 3 features high-end hardware specs, which puts it in competition with the Huawei Honor 10, OnePlus 6, Huawei P20 and the likes. In this article, we’ll be comparing the mid-range Huawei Nova 3i with the Huawei Nova 3e. The Huawei Nova 3e is also known as the Huawei P20 Lite, which is a stripped version of the Huawei P20. But in China and Malaysia, it’s known as Huawei Nova 3e.

Both the Huawei Nova 3i and Nova 3e features a front glass, an aluminum frame and a plastic back. The top-notch is featured on both phones. The top-notch of the Nova 3e is small, housing just a single selfie camera with other sensors. Whereas, the top-notch of the Nova 3i is longer, which houses a dual selfie camera and other sensors.
The back of the Nova 3i is arranged similarly to the Nova 3e. They both feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor with a dual rear camera at the top left corner. The dual rear camera is aligned in a vertical direction. The Nova 3 is available in three body colors; Black, Pearl White, and Iris Purple. While, the Nova 3e is available in three body colors; Klein Blue, Sakura Pink, and Midnight Black.

The Huawei Nova 3e sports a 5.84 inches IPS LCD touchscreen. The display packs a 1080 x 2280 pixels resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio and 432 pixels per inch density. Whereas, the Nova 3 comes with a 6.3 inches IPS LCD touchscreen. The display of the Nova 3 features 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution, 409 pixels per inch density and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

The Huawei Nova 3i features a dual rear camera and a dual selfie camera. While the Huawei Nova 3e features a dual rear camera and a single selfie camera. The dual rear camera of the Nova 3i and 3e consist of a 12MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP secondary sensor. At the front, the single front-facing camera of the Nova 3e is a 24MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture. Whereas, the dual selfie shooter of the Nova 3i features a 24MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor.

The Huawei Nova 3i is powered by the new in-house Hisilicon Kirin 710 chipset. The chipset features an Octa-core 2.2GHz processor and Mali-G51 MP4 GPU. While the Nova 3e is powered by the in-house Hisilicon Kirin 659 chipset. The Kirin 659 chipset features an Octa-core processor that clocks at 2.36GHz and Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. The Huawei Nova 3i also features the new GPU Turbo technology from Huawei.
The Huawei Nova 3e runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 8.0 user interface on top. Whereas, the Nova 3i runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 user interface on top. In terms of memory options, the Nova 3i is available in only a 4GB memory with 128GB internal storage. While the Nova 3e is also available in a 4GB memory with either 32GB, 64GB or 128GB internal storage.
