Honor X10 Max will pack a RGBW LCD panel

We expect Chinese company to launch the Honor X10 Max phablet on July 2 and thanks to a couple of leaks that have surfaced over the past few days, we know almost everything about the smartphone. We have also seen Honor tease some specs of the smartphone via its official Weibo account. A few hours ago, we also learned that the phone will feature an RGBW screen.

Smartphones usually come with displays that feature an RGB pixel arrangement. The Honor X10 Max, however, will feature an RGBW display.

Now, LCD panels that feature RGB (Red, Green, Blue) pixel arrangement are able to produce white color by illuminating those three colors at their highest intensity. However, due to color filters, some of the light ends up weakened.

RGBW panels, however, come with a dedicated white subpixel. As a result, the panel is able to produce an overall brightness that is much better than the conventional RGB screens that most smartphones feature.

Honor even went on to share a video showing the display brightness prowess of Honor X10 Max. The video was recorded on the day of Summer Solstice (June 21) when the sunlight hit directly on Tropic of Cancer.

The Honor X10 Max will come with a 7.09-inch display which makes it an ideal device to play games and also consume visual content. The phone will also pack the Mediatek Dimensity 5G processor.
