Yesterday, The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) disclosed that the results of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) examination would be released today.
His precise words were, ”We are holding a meeting now so we can have all the details available by tomorrow. We are releasing our results tomorrow.”

The JAMB boss then revealed that because of several infractions, the board withheld the results of 49,265 for various infractions.

He also said that 15,145 of the results were still seized for further clarification.

How To Check 2019 UTME Results Via Text/SMS?
- Simply send RESULT as a text to 55019 with the exact number that was used during registration.
- A text will received by you containing your UTME 2019 results.
JAMB felt the simplified way to check results for the 2019 examination was necessary to avoid extortion of candidates.
Here are the replies candidates can expect:
- If a candidate makes use of a phone number that was not used for registration, this is what he or she will see “This phone number was not used for registration.”
- A candidate who has a result will see “Dear Mr/Miss X, your result is as follows…(and the details will be provided)”.
- If a result is seized, the candidate will see “Result Withheld”.
- If a candidate is being given the benefit of the doubt, he or she will see “Result withheld pending the upload of clarifications/document required from you.”
- If a candidate did not show up for the exam, he or she will see “CANDIDATE ABSENT”
- A candidate that did not show up with REGISTRATION NUMBER CANCELLED as well will be duly notified.
- If a candidate gained unauthorized access to the examination hall, he or she will see “Invalid Entrance into the Exam Hall” as reply.
