The operating systems of Microsoft and Apple live with their time and have, of course, many emoticons to insert in your messages and documents.
Want to put a little joy in your messages, to pace them other than punctuation? The emojis are made for that and are easily used under Windows and macOS, provided you know the little manipulation to follow.
Windows 10
On a PC running with the latest version of the Microsoft OS, when you type a text, use the Windows key sequence and ; (hold down the Windows key and press the semicolon key).
A window appears with a large choice of emoticons, categorized. A search function is also available at the bottom of the window. Click on the drawing that interests you to insert it.
The other solution is to use the virtual keyboard. Right-click in the taskbar and select the Show Touch Keyboard button option.
An icon representing a keyboard will appear in the taskbar. Click on it, then on the keyboard key with a smiley face.
You then access the different emoticons.
macOS
On Macs, emojis are inserted using the <Cmd> + <Ctrl> + <Spacebar>keystroke . But if you do not know them, go to the top of the screen in the Edit menu and select Emoji and Symbols from the drop-down list.
A panel appears with the emoticons. Click on the icon at the top right to enlarge.
You then have access to a more detailed view to make your choice.
