How To Reset TP-LINK Router Password

In this article we won’t discuss too much, we’ll just go straight to the point.

It is a very good practice to reset your TP-LINK router password. It is good to do it the first time you use it or when you are trying to secure it so that you alone will have the access.

The below steps shows how to reset the admin password of your TP-LINK router

  • Click and open the web browser and insert the IP address of your wireless router in the address bar, then click Enter. Usually, the default IP address of TP-Link router is always 192.168.1.
  • Insert the password and username in the login bar. The default password and username are both ‘admin’ in lowercase.
  • Tap Management-> then click Access Control->then Password on the left page, and then insert the old password and new password.
  • Tap Save/Apply to help you save the settings.

The below steps will help you reset the Wi-Fi password of your TP-LINK router

  • Click and open web browser again then type the IP address of the wireless router in the address bar, after that, the click Enter. The default IP address as said before is 192.168.1.
  • Insert the password and username in the login page. The default password and username are both admin in lowercase.
  • Then Tap on Wireless on the left side of the page
  • Tap Wireless Security. This option is around the Wireless menu on the left side of the page.
  • After that go down and check the WPA2-PSK/ WPA-PSK box. It’s near the bottom of the page.
  • Insert in your new password.
  • Tap Save. This key is at the bottom of the page.
  • Tap OK when prompted.
  • Tap System Tools.
  • Tap Reboot.
  • Tap OK when prompted.
