We’ll be doing the analysis of one of their devices, the Imose Ankara S3 today. Let’s have an idea of what iMosé has to offer.
DESIGN & DISPLAY
The Imose Ankara S3 has a structure and dimension that is nothing to write home about. The design is so off! A mere 30 seconds perusal of the Imose Ankara S3 body and design already spells “cheap and mediocrity”. The device is super bulky and has a wide screen-to-body ratio. The 4-inch display screen is also of low quality with poor display resolution and bad pixel density.
On the front, you will spot the native Android soft navigation keys in red conspicuous colour. The front camera is just right beside the earpiece. At the back, the rear camera and flash are located at the top, the Imose logo centrally placed and the loudspeaker at the bottom left corner. The speaker is quite small and I doubt if it will resonate sounds of good quality and is tone-deaf free.
PROCESSOR & OS
Please guys, I’ve got one question. Who manufactures a device and doesn’t provide the most crucial information about it?
Yes. You guess is good. Imose does. Apparently, the Imose runs on anonymous processor. Even their official website made no mention of the device’s processor. The Imose Ankara S3 runs on Android v4.4 KitKat
However, what we can confirm is that the iMose Ankara S3 has 1GB RAM and 4GB internal memory (Please Imose, what on earth do you expect us to do with 4GB ROM? Uhn?). Anyways, there’s space for expansion using a micro SD card, and just so you know, this is not the kind of device you want to overload with applications. You don’t need a priest to tell you it’s not built for such.
CAMERA
The Imose Ankara S3 has a 3MP rear camera, with flash by the way. Do you need me to tell you what kind of image this device will produce? If yes? You disappoint me but I’ll tell you still. Poor images that even you may not recognize you in the picture after a camera shoot.
There’s a 1.3MP selfie camera at the front and I honestly don’t know what iMosé expects us to do with this in this era of Snapchat, Instagram and all other grams.
BATTERY
The battery capacity of this device is pegged at 1,800mAh. With the specs and features of this device, it should last for about 8-12 hours on a full charge.
CONCLUSION
Imose is a brand that aims to provide cheap devices to the Nigerian populace. However, the Imose Ankara S3 smartphone (Am I even right to call it a smartphone? I don’t think so) is more of a feature phone. The specs are very low and to me, I’d day the device is more for people at the extreme of ages – our kid brothers/sisters/cousins/nephews and maybe Grandparents.
