Earlier this week, our Editor-in-chief, Samuel Afolabi reported information about top Nigerian smartphone retailer, Infinix Mobility set to launch a new smartphone later this month (August, 2017). First information that reached us was that the smartphone will be launched by Infinix in partnership with top online retail mall, Jumia Nigeria.
While we were aware that a smartphone will be launched and it has the codenamed “Infinix X559“, new information reveals that two, not one, devices will be launched by the smartphone brand. The two devices are the Infinix Hot 5 and Infinix Hot 5 Lite. The two smartphones are entertainment focused smartphones and they have been themed “Mobile Cinemas”
No concrete specifications or features about the two devices are available yet but it is however speculated that the Infinix Hot 5 and Infinix Hot 5 Lite will have the following specs;

The Infinix Hot 5 lite on the other hands could launch with;

- 4,000mAh battery
- Dual LED Flash
- Double Microphone
- Dual 3D stereo/speakers
- 16GB internal memory (ROM)
- 1GB RAM
- No Fingerprint scanner
The Infinix Hot 5 is expected to cost a retail price of N37,000 while the Infinix Hot 5 Lite, N30,000.
These devices are quite similar to the newly released Infinix Smart X5010 (see specifications, review and unboxing pictures HERE) from the Smart series in that they both have dual loudspeaker setup at the front (the image above shows no loudspeaker at the rear).
Overall, judging by the expected specifications, price and pictures, the Infinix Hot 5 and Infinix Hot 5 Lite look really promising and affordable.
