Apple has recently rolled out its iOS 13, macOS Catalina and iPadOS 13 beta versions. This beta update includes many new features including the new face or touch id option to sign up on iCloud.com( web version of iCloud).
Sources suggest that Apple is testing a new feature which will allow the users to log-in on iCloud.com with the help of Face ID or biometric authentication. This feature is currently available for the beta users only.
You will come across to this feature when you will visit iCloud.com from your Safari browser. The beta users will be redirected to beta.icloud.com when visiting icloud.com. After this, you will see a pop-up message asking if you would wish to sign-in using your Apple ID with biometrics. Make sure that if you’re not automatically redirected to beta.icloud.com then enter this address manually in the url bar of Safari browser.
You need to make sure that you are running iOS 13, macOS Catalina or iPadOS 13 to use the new sign-in feature. iPhones X onwards user will be asked to use their Face ID to sign-in and the users using the older models will require Touch ID.
This process is similar to sign-up on App Store or iTunes Store. This feature is expected to release for all the users by September. And in the meantime, Apple is also testing out the gaze correction feature on iOS 13 during the face-to-face video calls.
