Koolnee Apex has been launched quietly on the Company’s website as a bezel-less beauty with top-notch. The device is expected to make its official debut at the Mobile Electronics Exhibition in Hong Kong from April 18th to the 21st.
This is the first Koolnee smartphone to come with the trending top-notch feature, and has a massive 6.18-inch FHD+ screen. Internally, there’s 2GB RAM and 16GB storage space. Without further ado, meet the Koolnee Apex.

Design
A combination of Metal and Plastic sums up its body, but the Plastic-like feel at the rear might be a turn off to some people. Sporting a simple symmetrical aesthetics at the rear, in terms of features.
The dual rear shooters starts a train at the top middle, paired with a fingerprint scanner underneath. There’s a dual-LED flash beside the cameras for night shoots. The stunning beauty was announced on the website in Blue color, it will definitely have other colors as well.
Display
Steadily but surely, we need to accept the notch display as it’s now a part of us. The company had to flow with the current trend, the notch on the Koolnee Apex houses the selfie camera, speaker grille and sensors. However, they couldn’t completely get rid of the bottom bezel.
The 6.18-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is a little bit disappointing in terms of features. Has a resolution of 480 x 996 pixels and 195 pixel per inch density, which should make all your movies and games come alive. Overall, the screen stretched up to 80% screen to body ratio.

Hardware and Software
Under the hood is the powerful MediaTek MT6739 chip with an octa-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-cores of processor on this baby clocks at a speed of 1.5GHz with 16nm process technology offering fast performance. Handling graphics is the ARM Mali-G71 MP2 graphics processor, coming with 2-Cores and clocks at 700MHz.
Launch heavy apps and multitask through them all with 2GB RAM space available. It has a memory speed of 667MHz for a smooth ride through apps. There’s a standard 16GB storage space here, ready to accommodate all your files and apps. You can always upgrade up to 64GB as well using a memory card. The Koolnee Apex runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box.
Camera
At the rear, there’s a vertically aligned 13MP + 2MP Sony IMX135 Exmor RS shooters with f/2.2 aperture and 1.127 um pixel size. The camera is paired with lots of quality features and a dual-LED flash as well. Videos of 1080 pixels can be recorded at 30 frames per second, while the 5MP selfie camera has f/2.2 aperture as well.

Battery
Powering the Koolnee Apex is a 4000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take up to 2.1 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
