Like most Chinese OEM’S the Leagoo brand is known for their cheap smartphones and is one of the brands to look out for when seeking to buy a budget device. The thing that makes budget device different is the distinction between specs sheet and price tag. You get an impressive spec sheet with a price cut that makes it very much affordable, and that is what the Leagoo P1 is all about.
Leagoo P1 offers an impressive stellar battery capacity which is not common in budget devices alongside a dual camera set up. This is what makes this device different from others in its price range. That being said let’s move along and see what it offers.
DESIGN AND DISPLAY
The Leagoo P1 is quite a compact smartphone and quite slim consider the capacity of the battery inside. Considering the price tag it is no surprise that it has a plastic case although the frame is made of a metallic material. However, the smartphone still maintains nice aesthetics despite the plastic casing.
Leagoo P1 has a dimension of 73.2 x 142.4 x 9.5 mm and weighs about 154g. The front features three offscreen touch buttons with the standard front camera, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and speaker arrangement above the screen. Talking about the screen there is a 5-inch 1280 x 720 HD IPS display touchscreen that has a pixel density of 294 PPI. The Dragon Trail Glass gives the screen a scratch resistant thereby bolstering its durability, also there is a viewing angle of 178 degrees ensuring a nice viewing experience.
CPU, OS AND STORAGE
There is a MediaTek MT6580A SoC inside powering the Leagoo P1 which is good enough. The quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor clocks at 1.3GHz, however, the 32bit size is very much this device downside. In addition, you have an ARM Mali-400 MP2 graphics processing unit.
The Leagoo P1 comes with the Android 7.0 Nougat based Leagoo OS 3.0 Lite. The device also features an LPDDR3 1GB internal memory alongside a storage capacity of 8GB which can be extended using a TF card up to 32GB.
BATTERY AND CAMERA
The Leagoo P1 has an impressive 4000mAh capacity supplied by a non removable lithium-ion polymer battery which supports fast charge. For taking pictures there’s a dual camera set up of 8MP and 5MP with a dual LED flashlight while the front camera has a 5MP module.
