Leaks of the Huawei Nova 5 Pro surface online, reveal storage and colour variants

Huawei will release the Nova 5 series of smartphones on June 21. Last year, Huawei had announced the Nova 3 and the Nova 3i. Hence, there have been several rumours saying that the upcoming Nova 5 series will include Nova 5 and Nova 5i smartphones. However, according to a recent leak, one of the phones released in the Nova 5 series could be called the Nova 5 Pro. A few hours ago, case renders of the Nova 5 Pro surfaced online. A major leak from MySmartPrice has revealed the renders, storage and color variants of Huawei Nova 5 Pro.

As you can see from the images below, Huawei will release the Nova 5 Pro in four colour variants including Green, Purple, Orange, and Black. Since the Nova 5i has a display with a punch hole design, it was believed that the Nova 5 Pro will feature a similar design. However, according to the leaked renders, the Nova 5 Pro will have a display with a waterdrop-style notch.

On the rear, the phone features a triple camera setup which has all three cameras arranged vertically. Another sensor which might be a ToF (Time of Flight) 3D sensor is placed alongside the cameras and the LED flash. The rear features no fingerprint sensor, however, which leads us to believe the phone will sport an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The leak also revealed that Huawei will launch the Nova 5 Pro in China in two variants including 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variants. The inclusion of “Pro” in its name suggests that the phone is a flagship device and it could be powered by the Kirin 980.

Recently, TENAA approved a new Huawei phone with model numbers SEA-AL10 and SEA-TL10. There are speculations that SEA-AL10 / TL10 is a Nova series flagship smartphone – the Nova 5 Pro. We haven’t seen the specifications and images of the phone on TENAA yet, however. XDA Developers editor Mishaal Rahman had revealed last month that the phone will come with a 6.39-inch AMOLED screen with full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. It may pack a 3,500mAh battery with 40W fast charging support. It might also sport a 25 MP selfie shooter. Its quad camera setup may also feature a 48 MP Sony IMX586 camera as its primary sensor.
