LG Rebel 4 Review, Price, Camera, Performance & Full Specs

Do you remember LG Rebel 3? It was released in the month of July 2018. As a runner-up, LG Rebel 4 serves the device that will offer the latest innovation that the company has to offer. Just recently in the month of September 2018, LG announced the Rebel 4.

It was announced as an affordable smartphone with such specifications that shows it is the higher variant of the previous rebel because there clear upgrades even in the OS. However, many people see it as a budget-friendly device, and here will be examining several issues why the LG Rebel 4 is worth a try.

Design and Display of LG Rebel 4

The first thing we notice is that the LG Rebel 4 looks very similar to the Rebel 3. Like the previous version, Rebel 4 has plastic body. The back is decorated with rear camera and LED flash. Rebel 4 is 7.9mm thick, and it weighs 140 grams, signifying that it is a light-weight phone. It comes in black color only.

In Rebel 4, the display type is HD IPS LCD capacitive touch screen. In addition to that, it comes in 5 inches screen with the resolution being 720 x 1280 pixels. It has 16 million colors. Furthermore, the pixel density is 294 ppi, while the screen to body ratio is 66.41 percent. The aspect ratio is 16:9.

Finally, it is important for would-be users to know that LG Rebel 4 comes with scratch resistance protection. There is also the 2.5D curved glass screen.

Camera Features

The camera department is endowed with 8 MP camera which can produce images of moderate quality and the video shot would be 1080p@30fps. The rear camera records with FHD feature and LED flash. Also, other important features are auto focus, continuous shooting digital zoom, exposure compensation, face detection, etc.

The front camera made for selfies is placed at 5 MP and we can’t tell whether it has LED flash features or not.

Rebel 4 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo which may soon receive firmware upgrade, although we can’t really tell. Furthermore, there is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset with process technology of 28nm. Similarly, the CPU is Octa-core 1.4 GHz 8-Cores. Altogether, these work with 64-bit architecture, and the GPU architecture is Adreno 308.

Storage Capacity in Rebel 4

For LG Rebel 4, storage capacity is also moderate, considering the price. There’s 2GB of RAM, with memory speed being 667 MHz. This can’t be expanded but the internal storage is 16GB that can be enlarged with microSD card up to the tune of 128GB. The card slot is capable of handling microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC cards.

Network and Connectivity

2G, 3G, and 4G networks do well on LG Rebel 4. Accordingly, the device is able to handle GSM, WCDMA, HSPA, and LTE. Each of these are created for different speeds to enable comfortable browsing. There’s space for only one SIM in this device, please take note.

For connectivity sakes, there are other components such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, USB Type-C, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, HDMI, 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Battery Life

Suitable power for LG Rebel 4 is Li-Ion battery of 2500 mAh capacity. Although this battery is removable, there’s no provision for wireless or fast charging operations.

Price and Availability

The LG Rebel 4 was announced and released in the month of October 2018. In view of this, the smartphone is readily available and buyers can now order it online. The price starts from $79 to $89 USD.
