Like the original Gemini, the Pro version has its fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button; and also the navigation buttons are still virtual.

An interesting feature of this device is the inclusion of a USB type-C port.

The Ulefone Gemini Pro still uses the same 5.5-inch display with 2.5 curved edge as its predecessor. Display resolution is Full HD at 1080 x 1920 pixels. There’s also a Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the screen.

Hardware, OS & Performance

The Gemini Pro comes with the MediaTek’s new Helio X27 chipset that features a deca-core CPU. The 10 processor cores are spread out this way – 2 x 2.6GHz ARM Cortex-A72, 4 x 2.0GHz ARM Cortex-A53, and 4 x 1.6GHz ARM Cortex-A53 cores. Graphics processing is done by a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU with 4 cores.

Camera

This is the focal point of this device. For the dual camera setup at the back, you have two 13MP sensors with dual-LED flash and auto-focus. This is complemented by an 8MP selfie camera at the front. The selfie camera is pretty good and can record Full HD videos. There’s no front flash on the device.

The dual camera setup supports the “bokeh” effect (in photography) that gives captured images the quality of depth of field.

Battery

To power the Gemini Pro is a non-removable 3,680mAh Li-Po battery. The battery supports fast charging and saves you the long hour of waiting for your battery to be fully charged.

Conclusion

If you don’t want to burn a hole in your pocket for the iPhone 7 plus, but still want to feel the experience of a nice dual camera smartphone, then the Ulefone Gemini Pro – at less than half the price of the iPhone – would be a suitable choice.
