With the quantity of budget smartphone sporting awesome specs of premium quality, I guess its high time we wave bye-bye to the days where only the rich or those with a lot of money to spare can afford decent smartphones or gadgets.
Over the past couple of weeks, we have reviewed quite a number of smartphones that are cheaper and more affordable alternatives to top high-end smartphones. Presenting to you today is the Meiigoo S8 smartphone; yet another budget and pocket friendly smartphone with amazing features (which we would highlight below) and comes with a price tag which is definitely a steal!
The Meiigoo S8 is a 6.0 inch sized smartphone with an IPS LCD screen with display resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. The screen is covered by a 3D curved glass and flanked to the sides by no bezels! An end-to-end display on a device less than $200 is totally worth it.
The device comes with dual camera on the rear. The cameras are made of a 13 MP lens and 5 MP lens as well as a LED flash light support. Up front, a single 5 MP lens is embedded for selfie and video calls purposes. Below the rear camera is a nicely embedded square-shaped fingerprint sensor.
Meiigoo S8 comes with a MediaTek MT6750T chipset and runs on a 1.5 GHz Octa core processor. The processor speed is decent enough but in combination with the huge 4 GB RAM, processes like running multiple apps simultaneously, opening an app, playing heavy games etc will tend to run faster. To house media files like pictures, videos and other multimedia, the Meiigoo S8 comes with a massive 64 GB built-in memory. The ROM can be expanded to up to 256 GB using an external micro SD card. The Meiigoo S8 runs on the Android v7.1 Nougat and a non-removable battery with a capacity of 3,300 mAh powers the device. There is no info as to whether the device will receive the Android Oreo update or not but the S8 comes with the Quick charge feature to speed up charging and cut short overall charging time.
