New ultra cheap 5G phone by China Mobile expected to hit the markets at the end of June

China Mobile is the main telecommunications service provider in China, but at the same time, they also have a solid stable of smartphones under their lineup. Phones and devices by China Mobile are usually more affordable while offering decent quality. This has helped them gain some fans around China. In a quite interesting news today, however, it has been revealed that the Chinese company is planning to launch an ultra cheap 5G smartphone. Even more, the phone is expected to hit the market before the end of next month.

The Vice President of the Chinese company, Jian Qin said, “The devices will cost CNY2,000 (USD289) but eventually fall to around CNY1,000 ($148)”. Although this may not be all that cheap, when compared to the competition, the phone’s price tag is hundred of dollars below. The price tags of 5G phones in the market today average a whopping $1,000. So the phone is a really great deal.

The Vice President of China Mobile also said, “In order to facilitate mainstream use, China Mobile is exploring a multi-dimensional billing model that will grant users access to fifth-generation networks without having to change SIM cards or phone numbers.” Jian Qin also expects the price of 5G phones to go down as soon as mass adoption of the technology takes place, but anyone could have really had told us that, it’s not a hard concept to understand.

The news is a pretty exciting one though especially for techies like us who do not have big pockets to splash out on flagship phones. While we love the development of the 5G technology, it’s not a stretch to say that the current crop of 5G devices are way above what we can call affordable. Thanks to the upcoming phone by China Mobile, we expect to see 5G technology become more common around the world. These, definitely, are some exciting times.
