Design

Sentiment aside, I will gladly grab this phone at first sight. The new phone comes with a similar body design with what we have been seeing. The smooth panel reminds us of the Infinix Hot 8.
The OLLA M8 also comes with a punch hole on the screen. It has a body dimension of 166.7 x 75.8 x 8.4 mm. On the overall, the back is built with plastic while the front is made of glass.

Display

On the front, the OLLA M8 comes with a large screen display size. You will find the front camera on the punch hole. The screen has a size of 5.77 inches with an IPS LCD panel. The display has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio. As you can see, remain just some inches and it would have reach 6.o inch and that would have been great. The screen has a 2.5D curved glass for display protection.

OLLA M8

Camera

On the camera setup, the OLLA M8 packs a combo rear camera that consists of 13 MP with another 2 MP shooter. The front camera is 5MP which is for taking selfies and making video calls. Both the main and the front camera has video recording capability of 2K at 30 seconds per frame.

Hardware And Software

On the inside, the smartphone has a MediaTek Helio A22 chipset with a 1.3 GHz Quad-core (Cortex-A53) processor. The chipset is equipped with PowerVR GE8320 for graphics related issues and gaming. Opera disappoint here, however considering the price, it’s still manageable. Nevertheless don’t expect much from the phone. It runs on the Android 9.0 Pie operating system.

Storage Capacity And Sensors

The OLLA M8 has an internal storage of 16GB that is coupled with 2GB RAM for a smooth performance. You can still expand the memory using micro SDCard up to 32GB. The sensors available on the device are Fingerprint (rear-mounted), Face Unlock, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, and Digital Compass.

Battery

The OLLA M8 is backed by a nonremovable battery of 3000 mAh which is below what we used to have on most iTel phones. The battery comes with support for fast charging making use of a standard 5W charging.

Network And Connectivity

The smartphone comes with dual SIM and also has a 4G LTE network for fast browsing and downloads. Other connectivity options on the device are Wifi, Bluetooth for a wireless connection, A-GPS for navigation, FM radio for entertainment and micro USB for files transfer and charging.

OLLA M8 Price And Availability

The OLLA M8 is now available for purchase at an affordable price of 25,000 Naira in Nigeria. The device will be shipped in amazing colors such as Black and Green.

Our Verdict:

The OLLA M8 is a budget device mostly for a novice. The device comes with a good price tag and also features other goodies like a fingerprint scanner and Face ID. However, on the inside, the processor is very low and will hardly lift any sensitive 3D games. So you should not expect much from the phone when it comes to performance.

Our Buyer’s Guide Verdict is a recommendation that we make based on our evaluation of the specs of the device. It is a general guide designed to help you understand how much value a smartphone offers for its price. It is not a stamp of quality assessment or an endorsement of the device or of the manufacturers.
