Recently Opay, which is own by Opera, revealed its plan to ventures into a smartphone. From the looks of things, the project has already kicked off with the launch of 6 smartphones. The OLLA Note 3 is among the phone, and it comes with impressive features and a pop-up camera that will surely win much heart in Nigeria. The OLLA Note 3 is available in Nigeria at an affordable price.

Design

The OLLA Note 3 comes with beautiful body design. The smartphone is wrapped with premium plastic in other to maintain the budget price tag. The smooth panel houses the camera with an LED flash and also a fingerprint scanner for security. It measures 157.9 x 78.9 x 9.5 in dimension and weighs 202 grams, which is a little bit heavy.

Display

On the front, the phone comes with a notch-free display. The front camera uses a pop-up mechanism. It has a large screen display size of 6.53 inches with IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. The screen also has a resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio and 267 PPI density. Furthermore, it comes with 2.5D curved glass which is scratch resistant.

Camera

Surprisingly, Opay equipped the new phone with a combo rear camera setup. The camera consists of a 16 MP full and anther 2 MP which will be for depth sensing. The primary camera is paired with an LED flash and can also record 2K video quality. Selfies fanatics will get a front camera of 5 MP which will also be for video recording.

Hardware And Software

Don’t forget that this is a mid-range smartphone and as such, it comes with a midrange processing power. The OLLA Note 3 has a Mediatek MT6763 Helio P23 chipset built on 16nm process technology.

It also comes with an octa-core processor clocking at a speed of 2.0 GHz and Mali G71 MP2 for graphics. The phone is powered by the Android 9.0 Pie operating system out of the box.

Storage Capacity And Sensors

On the memory, the OLLA Note 3 has an internal storage of 64GB that is paired with 4GB RAM for a smooth performance. The memory is expandable via micro SDcard. The sensors available on the device are Fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, proximity, and compass.

On the battery, there is no much to say. The smartphone comes with a nonremovable battery capacity of 3300 mAh. The juicer, however, comes with fast charging technology and other regulars. With the overall weight, one could think that the battery on the inside is from 4000 mAh and above.

The OLLA Note 3 comes with a dual SIM that has support for the 4G LTE network. It also comes with other features such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, a hotspot for a wireless connection, FM Radio for entertainment and 2.0, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector, USB On-The-Go.

The OLLA Note 3 is now available for purchase for $139 which roughly converts to about 52,000 Naira. The device will be available in amazing colors.

Our Verdict:

This is still a new phone from a new brand. So we can’t tell for sure how good is their product or this Note 3 in particular. A taste of the phone for a thorough review would have been a better means to convince buyers.

Hopefully, the company will provide a unit for that. But for now, the phone looks cool on paper. The design is okay just that it’s not that flashy nor classic. Over to you, what do you think about this new phone from Opay?
