On TechVaz today is the OUKITEL C5 Pro Review. We will be carefully examining the features that make up this device.

In its ever-continuous bid to churn out really cheap smartphone while also possessing tremendously high build and quality, Chinese smartphone manufacturer OUKITEL released the OUKITEL C5 Pro to. And with key features like the “Anti-smash screen” and finely designed metal frame, the OUKITEL C5 Pro promises to be a good sell.

Long story short, hold my hands while I guide you around the garden of the OUKITEL C5 Pro 4G Smartphone.

OUKITEL C5 Pro was designed to have a metallic body, which is of Zinc alloy make. OUKITEL did a really impressive and rather unexpected job on the C5 Pro. Being a budget device, no one expected the device to have the Anti-Smash screen. Isn’t this just a brilliant one from OUKITEL? The device screen to body ratio is however a downturn as the bezel on the C5 pro measures 1 mm.

At 0.174 kg (174g), the C5 Pro is still quite friendly on the hand and shouldn’t be much of a load to users.

DISPLAY

OUKITEL C5 Pro Review

The 5 inch 2.5D polished HD screen size with 1280*720 resolution handles display nicely on the C5 Pro. 5 inch screen radiates nothing but crystal clarity. Sharpness of images are good, so as well the viewing angle on the screen. You can see the display on the screen normally from basically every angle you view the device from.

PROCESSOR & OS

OUKITEL C5 Pro Review

The OUKITEL C5 Pro comes out of the box with the Android 6.0 operating system, which should be applauded. strikes hands together to applaud OUKITEL.

The reason behind the applaud is we have seen high-end devices in the past coming out-of-the-box with Android 5.0, right? A pocket-friendly device with one of the latest OS is something we don’t get to see on a daily.

OUKITEL C5 Pro is powered by the MTK MT6737, 1.3 GHz Quadcore processor. This is however quite old-fashioned. I mean, we are in the times and realm of Decacore processors already! The processor is a no-no for me.

But hey, it’s a budget smartphone. You sure aren’t expecting heavens and earth on the device at a price below $100 are you?

Speaking in terms of overall performance, the OUKITEL C5 Pro still handles multitasking and not-too-heavy games quite well. All thanks to the 2GB of RAM, which does justice to large files and the device functioning.

CAMERA

Now can I get the attention of the selfie addicts?

On the rear of the OUKITEL C5 Pro, a 5.0 MP Camera sits comfortably. Don’t hiss just yet. Just read on. Moving to the front facing camera, a 2.0 MP Selfie Camera was incorporated by OUKITEL. Now you can hiss. Thank you.

In this age of SnapChat, Instagram and WhatsApp stories (status), one would begin to wonder how a 2MP shooter is of any benefit. The same can be said for the rear shooter. 5MP? Selfie freaks can kindly pass. This is not the device they seek.

Though the rear camera according to OUKITEL boasts of human eye focusing which uses precise identification of focal length and shortening the focal distance to produce good quality images.

STORAGE

The pocket friendly OUKITEL C5 Pro comes with 16 GB ROM from the factory. This is quite enough for storing documents, media files like videos, music and the likes. However, if the space provided does not cater for all your storage needs, OUKITEL have given room for storage expansion of up to 32GB. This is a good one.

BATTERY

5.0 inch screen size, MTK MT6737 chipset and 1.3 GHz Quadcore processor. It is only normal to expect a battery juice enough to power the device for a long time, right?

Well, the 2000 mAh Li-ON battery that OUKITEL planted in the C5 Pro wouldn’t see that happening as it can only carry users for definitely less than 9 hours, that’s on average usage by the way. Heavy smartphone users can kindly stay off this device.

PROS

  • Anti-Smash screen
  • 4G LTE Support
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS
  • 32GB expandable storage

CONS

  • Poor Selfie Camera
  • Average Battery Life

VERDICT

The OUKITEL C5 Pro is a really good budget device for anyone who wants to use a decent Android powered device but isn’t willing to break the bank to get one. Big screen, average camera and decent battery life. It really is worth the buy at $75. About N33,000 when converted to Naira with the present exchange rate.

That’s all for the OUKITEL C5 Pro review. See you on the next. Ciao.
