The Oukitel K8 has been announced by the company as the device was seen in an Unboxing video confirming its specs and full screen. The K8 is the latest installment to the K series from Oukitel that focuses on battery, it’s the successor to the K7.
The device is powered by a massive 5000mAh battery, and of course, the MT6750T chip from MediaTek runs the show underneath. It has the standard 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space with dual rear camera as well. Lets meet the Oukitel K8.
Design
The K8 has a Plastic back with a Metal frame, the Metal frame adds a sleek and premium vibe to the design, it also offers a firm grip when held. At the plastic back, we can see the rear features it comes with. Dual cameras starts a vertical train at the top middle.
There’s a fingerprint scanner underneath the dual shooters, with a dual-LED flash beside the camera. The volume keys and power button are present by the right, while the SIM tray sits by the left. There’s a 3.5mm jack on top and a USB charging port with loudspeakers under the phone.
Display
When you turn over to the front, you’ll be graced with a tall 18:9 aspect ratio screen. The screen stretches all the way to the sides leaving no room for narrow bezels. The top bezels houses the usual features like the speaker grille, selfie camera, LED and sensors.
The 6-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is stunning. Boasting of 1080 x 2160 pixels in resolution and 402 pixel per inch density, delivering clear visuals. The screen was designed by AU Optronics and supports scratch resistant.
Hardware and Software
It’s powered by the MediaTek MT6750T chip which was built on a 28nm process technology, so don’t expect magic in terms of performance. It has 8-cores of processor clocking at 1.5GHz max. While the ARM Mali-T860 MP2 graphics processor clocks at 650MHz and comes with 2-Cores.
For multitasking, you get the same 4GB of RAM to run your heavy apps, it has a memory speed of 833MHz. There’s also 64GB storage space to accommodate your files, you can expand up to 256GB using a memory card. The K8 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
Camera
You get dual rear shooters at the back, the 13MP + 2MP comes with OIS, panorama, scene mode and other features. The 13MP shooter has f/2.0 aperture and has a dual-LED flash sitting beside it. While the 5MP selfie camera has f/2.8 aperture and supports Face ID.
Battery
Powering the Oukitel K8 is a 5000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2.6 hours.
